SBU Academy students must attend at least two sessions of academic programming per week during the school year. Through 9th grade, students attend the After School Tutoring Program to receive help with homework, study skills, test prep, language skills, and overall academic development. After School Tutoring is help every school day from 3:30pm until 6pm. In 10th grade, students attend Sophomore Skills sessions two evenings each week to receive English and Math enrichment. 11th graders attend an SAT Prep program two evenings per week. 12th graders are matched with a Senior Mentor to help them through the college identification, application, and acceptance process, which is guided by the Director of College Placement and Alumni.
Academic programming occurs at the Urban Assembly School for Careers in Sports in the Bronx.
