The SBU Supporters Club is South Bronx United's fan club and community group. The club supports the South Bronx United through fundraising, by various events--including the SBU Charity Cup, a FIFA Xbox tournament, and various watch parties-- and by building awareness of the organization's mission and impact. All proceeds raised goes to help fund the organization's programming. The SBU Supporters Club Board manages the club and is made up of NYC professionals passionate about the organization's mission and eager to engage in a leadership role to support South Bronx youth.

Ronak joined the SBU Junior Board in 2015 and serves as co-chair of the membership committee. He is currently a vice president at Brightstar Capital Partners, a private equity firm focused on closely-held middle market companies, and holds a Bachelor of Science from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. In his free time, Ronak is an avid traveler, and after growing up playing soccer in the suburbs of New York, he can still be found trying to relive the glory days playing in soccer leagues throughout the city.

Jamie came to SBU, in 2012, to complete fieldwork for her MPH in Community Health Education from the CUNY School of Public Health. She developed a short workshop curriculum based on student athletes' needs, focused on stress reduction, healthy eating and sleep along with other topics, and coached during the summer scholars program. Jamie then became a volunteer coach for the High School girls' travel team for a year, and after a brief stint in Spain, is currently the girls' U11 Rec Select coach. She received her B.A. in Sociology from Fordham University and plays in co-ed soccer leagues in Manhattan and Brooklyn.

Athrey joined South Bronx United in 2013. After two years as a coach of a U10 recreational team, he joined the Junior Board where he helps with fundraising, event organization and merchandise fulfillment. Having played soccer for over a decade, Athrey has seen the benefits of the sport first hand and the effect it can have on youth. He is excited to be a part of SBU's mission. He is currently a Market Risk Associate at Jefferies Group. Athrey graduated from the University of Michigan in 2012, with a B.S.E. in Mechanical Engineering and a Certificate in Entrepreneurship.
MBA Student, Fordham University
Russ joined South Bronx United in 2013 as a junior board member and U13 rec coach. He is currently a student at Fordham’s Graduate School of Business, prior to which he worked in software sales for six years. Having lived and worked in Spain, Australia, and Singapore, Russ has enjoyed being able to take his love of soccer all over the world and see how it brings people together. When he’s not playing as a goalkeeper in rec leagues around the city, Russ is a staff writer for DreamStart Soccer, and an avid supporter of the New York Red Bulls and Real Madrid.

Russ has been involved with SBU since it's second year, coaching U13 and U16 rec teams, and mentoring SBU Academy youth through our College Prep Program. When not leading the Supporters Club, he works in Marketing Services for advertising agency DDB, driving digital strategy and execution. Russ graduated from Fordham University in 2007, and in his spare time can be seen playing in soccer leagues around the city.

Aaron began volunteering with South Bronx United in 2014 as a U8 coach and is now a SBU Supporters Club Board Member. In 2012, he graduated from Fordham University where he was a four year division I soccer athlete. Aaron currently works in the digital media and entertainment world as a Senior Yield Analyst at CBS Interactive.

Sushaan began volunteering with SBU in the Fall of 2014 after moving to New York City. He has and continues to coach a U-10 boys rec teams and has also been involved in SBU as a tutor. He is currently an Analyst in the Strategic Advisory group at PJT Partners (formerly Blackstone Advisory Partners) where he primarily works in Technology, Media and Telecom and Sports. Sushaan was a member of the Huntsman Program in International Studies and Business at the University of Pennsylvania where he received a B.A. from the College of Arts and Sciences and a B.S. from the Wharton School.

James began volunteering with South Bronx United in 2011 as a coach in the organization’s U14 recreational program. He is currently a Senior Strategy Analyst for Major League Soccer. James received his BBA from Southern Methodist University and his MBA from Columbia University.

David joined the SBU Supporters Club Board in 2016 and serves as Secretary. He is currently an Associate at Sterling Investment Partners, a middle-market private equity firm, and is involved in all aspects of the firm’s investment activities. David earned his B.S. from New York University’s Leonard N. Stern School of Business. He is a strong believer in the unifying power of soccer and enjoys playing the beautiful game with his friends every Saturday morning in Manhattan.
